The memories of Vincent’s youth and his childhood years are kept alive in the Vincent van Gogh House. It highlights the way it influenced the life of the later artist in the form of a museum presentation.

Our permanent exhibition focuses on the youth of the artist. Vincent himself will guide you in an audio tour about his special relationship with his brother Theo and the concerns of his parents. His birthplace Zundert will come to life through projections. You will recognize his love for nature.

Vincent van Gogh became an inspiration for many future artists and he even got the nickname ‘Father of modern art’. This is also the subject of the second room in the permanent exhibition. Through a poetic mixture of art and quotes you will discover the impact Vincent has had on numerous artists, as you can see in the works of art.
The Vincent van GoghHuis presents the exhibition ‘Closer to Vincent – Everyday objects in Vincent van Gogh’s work’ from 30 July to 30 October 2022. The exhibition is based on research by art historian Alexandra van Dongen on the objects that Van Gogh portrayed in his paintings. Her study has provided many new insights into Vincent’s work. The exhibition was designed by the artists André Smits & Monika Dahlberg and entails various objects from Vincent’s legacy, from the collections from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and the Musée d’Orsay in Paris.
