The Van Gogh Heritage Foundation is committed to preserving and developing Vincent van Gogh’s cultural heritage for present and future generations through exhibitions and educational programmes. To achieve this Het Noordbrabants Museum will provide a team of experts for improving the content of the presentation of Vincent van Gogh’s life story. There will be close cooperation with partners in the Van Gogh Europe network and with experts from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
In 2018, Erfgoed (Heritage) Brabant started to develop a new educational programme about Vincent van Gogh. A new heritage educational project being developed will make students aware of the important role that Noord-Brabant played in the life and works of Vincent van Gogh and what he means for Europe right up to the present day. The project will be available for the 2019-2020 school year free of charge for all primary schools in Brabant.
The heritage educational project based on the life and work of the artist born in Zundert fits perfectly into Van Gogh Brabant’s mission to preserve Vincent van Gogh’s cultural heritage in Brabant and to share it with the rest of the world. It is apparent that at the moment interest and appreciation of Van Gogh appears to be greater in other countries than it is in the Netherlands. “We still have a long way to go in the Netherlands, and also in Brabant”, said Frank van den Eijnden, director of Van Gogh Brabant.
